Problem: When Microsoft Office Word 2003 text files are placed or copied + pasted into Indesign PC CS document italics, bolds, etc. are lost.
somehow i've got paragraph styles that solve this problem, but when a friend asked me how i did it, i realized i had no idea.

Re: another indesign question re: paragraph styles and italics
Sun, May 6, 2007 - 5:29 AMHi there! Instead of copying and pasting, "place" the word document and your styles should be retained in the CS. (yes, you can do this with text as well as images). If they go a bit odd, you can use the eyedropper tool to correct them. I hope I've explained it properly! Good luck! -

Re: another indesign question re: paragraph styles and italics
Sun, May 6, 2007 - 9:49 AMlook in the InDesign preferences -- i'm using CS2 so this might have changed, but -- under the Type tab, at the bottom of the page there is the option: "When Pasting Text and Tables from Other Applications" choose "All Information" and see if that helps...
